Our Mission
PROACT’s mission is to reduce disparities and lower the burden of cancer for individuals and their families by improving understanding of family cancer risk and increasing access to cascade genetic testing.
We aim to save lives through education and communication about cancer risk and prevention in families.
When someone learns they have a genetic mutation that increases their risk for cancer, it means their family members might also be at risk. For too long, the difficult job of talking about family cancer risk has fallen on people diagnosed with cancer.
We are here to make it easier for people to share this important information and give family members an easy way to get genetic testing to learn about their personal cancer risk.
We believe that partnership between patients, families, doctors, genetics experts, and researchers is needed to improve health and save lives.
